Description:

Manufactured in 1896. This was S&W's first swing-out cylinder revolver, the predecessor to every S&W revolver manufactured since that time. It has standard S&W markings, matching assembly numbers on the yoke and crane, and matching numbers on the butt, cylinder, barrel, and right grip panel. The factory box is numbered beginning with a "2" and has the correct end label for this model.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original nickel finish that is beginning to take on a frosted appearance. The case colors on the hammer and trigger have mostly faded to a gray. The grips are very fine with faded left panel and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine showing a couple holes caused by the hammer and mild wear overall.
