Blade front and notch rear sights, with the left side of the slide marked with the Walther banner, 2-line address and caliber markings, and "Mod. PP", the proper hand-scribed serial number on the inside of the slide, "crown/N" proofs on the barrel, chamber hood and slide, and "SA der NSDAP/Gruppe Mitte" (Storm Troopers of the National Socialist German Worker's Party/Group Mitte) on the front strap. One of the high-level organizational units in the SA, the Gruppen were responsible for Brown Shirt activities over large areas; Gruppe Mitte hasn't been positively identified, but was mostly likely responsible for the Mitte region of Berlin, the historical center of the city and location of a number of vital government and cultural centers. Walther was the go-to firm for supplying arms to the SA, with the front strap being the standardized location for Gruppe markings. Produced in limited quantities, many of these pistols were destroyed after World War II.

Very fine, with 80% of the bright original blue finish showing bright edge wear, a few spots of bright gray patina with minor pitting concentrated on the slide, and some minor handling marks. The grips are also very fine, with a few minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
