Blade and tangent sights, with "byf/42" on top of the receiver ring, "eagle/135" proofs, and "Mod.98" (block letters) on the sidewall. Matching numbers are present on the bolt, floorplate, trigger guard and barrel bands. Smooth pistol grip stock with a cupped steel buttplate.

Fine with touched-up trigger guard and floorplate, 90% of the original blue on the remainder, showing some light edge wear, a few hints of a brown patina, and scattered light handling marks. The stock is fine as lightly sanded, with some small areas of filler, polishing marks on the disassembly disc, and some minor dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
