Manufactured in Belgium and subsequently embellished by Master Engraver Walther Kolouch. Single bead sight on the matte rib with 3 inch chambers, single extractor, standard Belgian proofs and "FRANCOTTE CHOKEBORE" on the barrel flats, and improved modified/full chokes. Matching serial numbers on the barrels, forearm fittings, receiver, and trigger guard. Receiver is fully engraved with fine floral and scroll designs with four quail on the right, four partridges on the left, single grouse on the underside, and a pair of quail on the trigger guard. All of the birds are rendered in relief chiseled gold. The sides of the receiver are inscribed "LIEGE BELGIUM" and "A. FRANCOTTE" on the right and left respectively, and the trigger plate is signed "GRAVEUR W. KOLOUCH". Dual triggers and tang mounted safety. Checkered splinter forearm and straight grip stock with teardrop flats, blank gold initial oval, and checkered butt with hard rubber heel and toe caps. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 3/8 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/2 inches.

Very fine as embellished by Master Engraver Walter Kolouch. 95% plus blue finish remains on the barrels with some light spotting and slightly light retailer markings. The receiver and lock plates have 90% vibrant case colors with a mixed brown patina on the balance, sharp engraving and gold inlays, and clear markings. The wood is very good with a visible hairline crack at the top of the wrist going halfway down both sides. The checkering is sharp with attractive dark figure and some scattered small dings. Mechanically excellent.
