Description:

Active from the 1850s into the 1870s, Siegel is noted as a maker of a variety of knives and tools, with surgical implements being a noted specialty in the directories of the day. Measuring 6 3/4 inches long, this push dagger is fitted with a 4 1/4 inch double edged spear point blade and a round shank, with "F.S. SIEGEL/LOU.KY" on one side of the ricasso. The hilt is constructed from a single piece of smooth, lightly curved rosewood, with a brass screw securing the shank. With a German silver sheath, fitted with a leaf-themed suspension stud.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with a mixed bright patina on the blade and some light handling marks overall. The rosewood grip shows fine grain, and the sheath shows a few dark spots and dings.
