Standard markings along with John Wayne related embellishments on both sides of the receiver, "ENGRAVER'S PROOF" on the upper tang, "John Wayne Born- Winterset, Iowa May 26, 1907" on the left side of the barrel and John Wayne's signature plus "The American Cowboy" on the right, both in gold. Featuring gold receiver, lever, barrel bands, saddle ring, butt plate, and both sights, with a gold John Wayne medallion in the right side of the buttstock. With Winchester John Wayne Commemorative box Model 94 Carbine in 32-40 but with an added tag to the end label that reads "Engraver's Proof, F 706651" and cloth gun sleeve.

Excellent, retains 99% plus blue/gold finish with a very small ding on the front of the trigger guard, and very small casting flaw on the rear sight, and a few very light handling marks. The stock is also excellent with a few light handling/storage marks and sharp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. The box is excellent with some light wear, mainly on the corners.
