Description:

Manufactured at Harpers Ferry Armory, Virginia, in 1807 as one of a total production approximately 4,096 produced. Smooth bore .54 caliber barrel with iron rib below holding an iron ramrod ferule without sights and marked with "eagle head/P" and "US" markings along with the serial number "1034". Recent research indicates that Model 1805s were numbered and issued in pairs. Therefore, of the total 4,096 manufactured the highest serial number would be 2,048 with each serial number used twice. The lock plate has an integrally forged iron flash pan with fence and is marked with an eagle/shield motif above "US" ahead of the hammer and "HARPERS/FERRY/1807" vertically marked behind the hammer. Stock has brass mountings. Complete with a wooden ramrod with swelled tip.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus as still in original flintlock configuration. The barrel and action have been cleaned, with a darker aged patina on the action and some minor pitting mostly on the barrel. The brass is fine. The stock is fine with a rectangular shaped indentation on the left stock flat and a repaired chip near the buttcap along with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically fine. This is the most attractive of all U.S. military pistols!
