Description:

Features a brass blade front sight on the barrel band, a bayonet lug near the muzzle, "US" and "P/Eagle head/V" at the breech, "1811" on the tail of the lock and "1812" on the buttplate tang, "US" over the federal eagle and shield motif above "SPRINGFIELD" in an upward curve on the lock, "US" on the left stock flat, faint stamp behind the trigger guard tang, "STBM" in hand marked dots on the trigger guard tang, and an unmarked and non-fitting socket bayonet. With replacement ramrod.

Rating Definition:

Fair as reconverted with a mix of artificial light brown and dark brown patina, mild pitting concentrated on the lock, short ramrod, replaced sling swivels tool marks, and some repairs and gaps on the lightly sanded and re-oiled stock. Mechanically functions but no usable half cock notch.
