Description:

273,265 of these rifle-muskets were manufactured c. 1863 as part of the effort to arm the Union Army. This example has the standard markings and features. Mounted with a brown leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Very good with mostly mottled brown patina, remnants of original blue finish on some of the parts, bright surfaces in protected areas, traces of original case colors on the lock, minor oxidation/pitting, moderate scrapes and dings on the stock, and general mild wear. Mechanically excellent. A solid representative example in "out of the attic" type condition that appeals to many Civil War collectors.
