Description:

Approximately 25,000 Model 1875s were manufactured between 1875 and 1889. It is marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. N.Y. U.S.A" on top of the barrel and "44", indicating .44-40 caliber, in the upper left corner of the frame. The serial number is marked on the left side of the grip frame under the grip panel, both of which are numbered to the gun. This example has a 5 3/4 inch barrel. The Model 1875 Single Action revolver was Remington's attempt to compete with the Colt Single Action Army. Many of these revolvers saw hard use in the Old West, and high condition examples such as this revolver are difficult to find.

Rating Definition:

Fine retains 85% original nickel finish with some scattered patches of grey patina. The very good replacement grips have some minor handling marks and strong varnish overall. Mechanically excellent.
