This is an outstanding example of a Winchester Deluxe Model 1894 Takedown rifle that was manufactured in 1919. The rifle has a 26 inch octagon barrel and full length magazine. The barrel has a Lyman "Hunting Front Sight" with bead and sporting style rear sight with flat-top profile. A 1905 Lyman folding combination sight with locking button is mounted on the upper tang. The rifle has a blue finish with color casehardened hammer and lever. The stock and forearm are highly figured, deluxe, fancy grain walnut with Style H checkering. The stock has a crescent steel buttplate and a black hard rubber pistol grip cap embossed "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO." The left barrel flat is roll-stamped with the two-line legend "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED.AUGUST 21, 1894" ahead of the rear sight. "-NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER -30 W.C.F." is roll- stamped on the left side of the barrel below the rear sight. The Winchester "oval VP" proofmark is stamped on the top of the barrel and receiver. The serial number is stamped across the underside of the frame.

Excellent plus. The rifle is completely original and retains 97% plus of the original blue finish. The only significant wear is some thinning in the finish on the bottom of the takedown collar, forward edge of the receiver and on the edges and bottom of the crescent buttplate. The hammer and lever have nearly all of the muted case colors. The barrel markings are extremely sharp. The fancy grain stock and forearm are both in excellent plus condition. The checkered panels are sharp and nearly all of the high polish piano finish remains. There are several very light scratches on the underside of the stock between the pistol grip and buttplate and several larger scratches on the left side of the forearm behind the checkered panel. This is an exceptional example of a special order Winchester Model 1894 Fancy Sporting Rifle.
