Manufactured in 1891, this antique example of the Model 1887 has the standard blue and casehardened finishes. The left side of the receiver is marked with the large "WRACO" monogram, and the lower tang is marked with the four-line address/patent dates. The barrel is marked with a small "12" on top, just forward of the breech, with the Winchester "WP" proof just to the left side. It features a single brass bead sight, 2 3/4 inch chamber, and mounted with a smooth two slab walnut forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 2 1/8 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 12 3/4 inches.

Fine. 40% original blue finish remains on the barrel and magazine tube with edge wear, light brown spotting, small dings and scratches. The receiver and lever have 50% plus original slightly muted case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance and crisp markings. The wood is also fine with small dings throughout and light spotting on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
