Fitted with dovetail blade front and Marble folding leaf sights. The barrel has the two-line address/patent dates marking and "30-30" on the top flat, and "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL", found on rifles after 1904, on the upper left flat. "MARLIN SAFETY" is marked on top of the receiver, and "MODEL/1893" is marked on the upper tang. The exposed barrel flats at the breech feature engraved scrollwork. The receiver is engraved with floral scrollwork along with scroll and wavy line borders. Each side of the receiver has an engraved game scene vignette. The scrollwork extends to the forend cap and takedown collar. Eyelets are attached to the forend cap and buttstock. The nicely figured forearm and pistol grip stock feature multi-point checkering and a crescent buttplate.

Fine. The barrel and magazine tube retain 80% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance. The forend cap, hammer, lever and frame retain 50% original case colors. 60% original nitre blue remains on the loading gate. The engraving is crisp. The wood is fine with a couple long scratches, some minor handling marks and some blemishes in the checkering. Mechanically excellent.
