Description:

The lock has the eagle and shield emblem at the center and "HARPERS/FERRY/1813" on the tail. The barrel has a bayonet stud on top and is marked with only a "P" cartouche on the left at the breech. The front sight is on the rear strap of the front barrel band. The bayonet is marked "NC. US."

Rating Definition:

Fair as reconverted to flintlock configuration and altered with gray and brown patina, some patches of mild pitting, and moderate scratches and marks. The refinished wood has some flakes, a large splice between the lock and upper tang, reworked lock mortise, and some scrapes and dings. The lock is mechanically fine.
