The right side of the butt has a "USTATES" surcharge mark, and "US" is marked on the top of the barrel at the breech. The lock has a "star/D" stamped above "Charleville" in front of the hammer. The band springs are located behind the iron barrel bands. A rectangular iron bayonet lug is located on the bottom of the barrel. The sling swivels are fitted to a stud in front of the trigger guard and the mid barrel band and have been fitted with a reproduction white leather sling. Also includes a socket bayonet and reproduction scabbard with hanger.

Poor as reconverted and extensively altered with artificial dark brown patina and mild pitting overall, crude repair on the front section of the barrel which has been welded on, spliced forend and moved band springs, replacement upper barrel band with absent front sight, minor cracks in the stock, and general scratches and dings. The lock has some replacement parts and functions. The bayonet is very good with smooth artificial brown patina.
