Description:

The top of the barrel is stamped with the three-line address ahead of the R.S. Lawrence adjustable ladder rear sight and "NEW MODEL 1863" at the breech. The action has Sharps and Lawrence patent markings featuring a saddle ring bar, marked "ECB", with ring on the left side. Smooth straight grip stock and forearm with single barrel band and carbine buttplate. The left side of the wrist has two script letter cartouches.

Rating Definition:

Fair, with mostly a smooth dark gray patina overall. There is some minor pitting on the lever and a crude replacement screw on the forward left side of the frame. The refinished wood has some minor to moderate dings, dents, and scratches, and a small repaired crack near the upper tang. Mechanically excellent.
