Description:

The barrel has U.S. proofs, a small blade front sight, and an empty rear sight dovetail. The lock has "1864" on the tail and "C.S./RICHMOND, VA" at the nose. The forend cap and buttplate are brass, and the other furniture is iron. Attributed as used by a Private Flemming S. Worrell (listed in Company I of the 151st Regiment of Virginia Militia).

Rating Definition:

Good with dark brown patina, moderate oxidation, and heavy overall wear. The sling swivels and rear sight are absent. The stock has a large chip absent between the lock and tang, small chips and slivers absent elsewhere, somewhat loose lock mortise, moderate scrapes and dings, and some faint carving. Mechanically fine. Missing rear sight.
