Unserialized Remington New Model Army Percussion Revolver

Type: Revolver
Gauge: 44
Barrel: 8 inch octagon
Finish: blue
Grip: walnut
Stock:
Item Views: 1434
Item Interest: Average
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 105
Class: Antique
Description:

The bottom of the barrel, trigger guard, rear of the cylinder, and left side of the grip frame are marked "A." The rear of the cylinder is also marked "W." "60" is marked under the "A" on the grip frame, and there is no number visible on the barrel. The grips are numbered "162" (left) and "101" (right). Given the serial number range for this model started in the 15000 range and continued from there, the "66" on the grip frame should not be the serial number. These revolvers were the second most widely used during the Civil War and remained in use in the late 19th century.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with 80% plus bright original high polish blue finish, flaking and brown patina primarily on the grip straps, and light scratches and marks. The trigger guard fits a little odd, and the grips are undersize replacements. Mechanically excellent.
