Description:

A total of 30,362 Smith carbines were purchased by the U.S. during the Civil War. It has standard markings and features including the matching serial number on the receiver and barrel at the hinge.

Rating Definition:

Good with a mix of gray and brown patinas and some light oxidation, mild edge wear, and general minor marks and scratches on the metal, and the wood has dark oiled finish, some minor scrapes and dents, distinct cartouche, and minor hairline crack on the left side of the stock at the wrist. Mechanically fine.
