Description:

Measuring 12 1/4 inches overall, with a 7 inch clip-point blade marked "W.F. MORAN/LIME KILN,/MD." on the right side. A self trained bladesmith, William Moran, among other distinctions, was a founder of the American Bladesmith Society, president of the Knifemakers Guild, and "the father of modern Damascus", credited with introducing pattern welding to modern American knife production. The grip is smooth hardwood construction, with heavy brass guard and pommel; the contour lends itself very naturally to a "rapier" style grip. With an unmarked brown leather sheath.

Rating Definition:

Fine, showing some light spotting and scratching on the blade, and minor handling marks overall. The sheath shows some minor scuffing, dark spots and verdigris. An attractive knife from one of the great names in American weaponry.
