Manufactured in 1959 and subsequently upgraded to factory style configuration. This example of a custom Winchester Model 12 Deluxe Pigeon Grade features red bead front and steel bead mid sights on the matte vent rib, and a 2 3/4 inch chamber, "WS-1" marked choke, standard barrel markings, and the Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver, correctly offset to the left because of the rib. The magazine tube is engraved with the iconic Winchester pigeon, and the receiver features factory 12-1 scroll engraving with punch dot accents. The extra fancy walnut forearm and pistol grip stock have factory B style fleur-de-lis carving, fine checkering, hard rubber Winchester grip cap, and a solid rubber recoil pad with a leather face. The stock measurements are: 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel 13 3/4 inch length of pull. With the original box with the special features including the engraving, carving, vent rib, grade, and select wood noted on the end label. This shotgun was special ordered with and consecutively serialized to the following lot as indicated by the accompanying Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp. invoice (photocopy).

Excellent overall showing only limited surface scratches from handling and storage. The box is very fine with some light corner and edge wear and light staining on the bottom.
