Offered here is a highly attractive rifle built on a double square bridge Mauser action. The rifle features a high quality bright blue finish with attractive flourishes of gold damascene floral scrollwork throughout with elaborate coverage on the floorplate and receiver executed by Master Engraver Jere Davidson, who signed his name inside the magazine plate "J DAVIDSON-ENGR." Davidson apprenticed under former Colt Master Engraver Ken Hurst and now engraves primarily for Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing, as well as Dakota Arms and several custom knifemakers. Note the gold embellishment extends to the trigger guard, scope rings, bolt handle and skeletonized buttplate. The stock pin features a crest with the letter "G" over a spread winged eagle in gold, which could prove interesting with some further research. A gold inlaid band appears on the barrel at the muzzle. The set trigger is plated in gold. The top of the receiver wall has the Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing marking and serial number: "CSM N.B. CT. J23397." Fitted with a ramp beaded blade front sight with flip up moon and hood, three leaf rear sight graduated to 150 yards (two folding, one fixed), bolt peep sight and Zeiss Diavari V 1.5-6x42 T*' scope. The bolt and follower are finely jeweled. The highly figured pistol grip stock features fancy checkering with relief carved floral motif, ebony Schnabel forend tip, cheekpiece, blank initial oval and checkered bare butt with gold damascene engraved skeletonized buttplate. The full length, leather bound and French cut oak case contains scope lens covers, two-piece cleaning rod with three heads, three screwdrivers, two gold plated oil bottles, gold plated container, Galazan skinning knife featuring a damascus blade and case key. The knife and screwdrivers have matching horn handles.

Excellent, retaining 99% plus of the blue finish showing the slightest handling marks. The bolt extractor shows some finish loss and has an overall plum appearance. The stock is very fine with minimal handling marks, crisp very fine checkering, and a professional repair to the wrist with some excess finish in that area. Mechanically excellent. The scope is excellent. The case is fine with some minor handling/storage marks. A high quality gold embellished and carved rifle for your growing sporting collection!
