This Griffin & Howe built rifle uses a Winchester Model 70 receiver (1978) and is chambered in .458 Winchester Magnum. Hooded front sight and three leaf rear sight with gold inlaid sighting lines, graduated to 100 yards and on an engraved matted quarter rib that also acts as a front scope base on the receiver. The scope blocks hold a Redfield 1-4x scope. The bolt is blued with engraved knob, and the follower is jeweled. The top of the barrel is marked "No 2653 GRIFFIN & HOWE, INC. NEW YORK, N.Y." The floorplate is marked "-SUPER GRADE-." The right rear side of the receiver is inscribed "LOVELAND 1980." The nicely figured left handed pistol grip stock has a straight comb, checkering, cheekpiece on the right side, engraved grip cap and solid recoil pad. The Huey partitioned leather bound oak case has a G&H label on the interior of the lid, "LOVELAND/1980" inscribed raised plaque on the exterior of the lid, and has compartments for the scope and other accessories. The other accessories include a matching set of four G&H tools, quick release swivels, oiler with "L" inscribed lid, leather sling and bore cleaning kit. Very fine overall, retaining 99% plus Griffin & Howe blue finish showing the slightest handling marks and crisp stock checkering. The case is fine with scattered minor handling/storage evidence and partially detached handle.
