Manufactured in 1949 and subsequently custom upgraded by the Griffin & Howe firm. Hooded beaded blade front and two leaf flip up rear notch sights, barrel marked "No. 2048 GRIFFIN & HOWE INC. NEW YORK" on top with added sling swivel mount, and faint Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Fitted with a Griffin & Howe side scope mount. Jewelled bolt, receiver rail, follower, and extractor with a knurled round knob bolt handle. Multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with elaborately gold inlaid trigger guard ebony forend cap, blue steel grip cap, blank silver initial oval, and checkered blue steel buttplate. With leather sling.

Very fine as customized by Griffin & Howe with 97% of the high polish G&H blue finish remaining, some light handling marks, traces of edge wear, and some small scratches. The stock is also very fine with crisp checkering and some small scattered dings. Mechanically excellent.
