Manufactured between 1944 and 1948. Ramped beaded blade front and flip up two leaf rear sights, "No. 1911 GRIFFIN & HOWE INC. NEW YORK" marked barrel, standard Winchester markings on the receiver, Griffin & Howe side mounted scope base with J. Unertl Hawk scope, jewelled bolt and follower, and knurled bolt handle knob. The floor plate and trigger guard are finely engraved with field scenes of deer with detailed backgrounds, and borders of fine flowing scroll. Checkered pistol grip stock with horn forend cap, engraved blue steel grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as embellished and refurbished by Griffin & Howe. 95% plus high quality blue finish remains with some light handling marks overall. The stock is also very fine with well-defined checkering, some scattered small dings, and mild edge wear on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent. Scope is very good with some mild wear on the exterior and clear optics.
