Description:

These "Seven Shooters" were manufactured around 1861 to 1863. Total production is estimated at 5,000-8,000 and would have been higher if Smith & Wesson had not sued Moore over his competitive design. These revolvers are known to have been privately purchased and used as side arms during the Civil War. The only visible markings are a matching "7" on the front and rear grip frames and on the frame under the cylinder.

Rating Definition:

Very good, mostly a brown mottled grey patina on the barrel and cylinder. The frame is an attractive aged brass. The grips show a overcoat of varnish with some minor dings and scratches and strong varnish overall. Mechanically fine.
