Manufactured by the Moore's Patent Firearms Company circa 1864 to 1870, this front loading revolver features about 75% coverage Nimschke-style floral scroll and game scene engraving on the frame and etched floral scroll motifs on the barrel and cylinder. The entire revolver is gold plated. The top of the barrel is marked with the Moore's one-line address, and the cylinder is marked with the D. William's one-line patent date. Included in the lot is a hardwood case with brass fittings and blank brass plaque in the lid as well as a cartridge black fitted to the revolver that contains 31 cartridges.

Excellent, retains 95% plus original gold plating with the balance a speckling of smooth brown patina, some small areas of the hammer worn bright, and crisp engraving overall. The grips are very fine with some light dings and minor chipping in the high edge of the right panel. The action functions fine. The case is very fine with numerous light scratches and dings and strong varnish overall.
