The included C.M.P. letters and bill of sale confirm the rifle's serial number, 1961 year of sale, and status as a National Match grade rifle. The barrel is correctly marked "NM" on the left side between the front sight and handguard, dated "4 54" with a drawing number of "SA-F6585448" and standard inspection marks. The front sight is marked "NM/062" on the right side, and the flush nut rear sight is marked "NM" on the windage drum, "HRA" on the elevation drum, "NM" on the base, "NM" on the leg, and "565" on the aperture. The operating rod is correctly not marked NM and has a drawing number of "D353282 9 SA". The gas tube is stamped "NM" just behind the stacking swivel and has a single slot locking screw. The trigger group is numbered to the gun in white paint with a partial "7875" and "SA" marked components. Mounted with a GI glass bedded walnut pistol grip stock with the partial serial number "7875" in the barrel channel and a circled "P" at the grip. Fitted with a checkered stamped buttplate with a trapdoor, sling swivels, and a green canvas web sling. The rifle also includes a copy of the Ordnance Corps sales record listing the rifle by serial number as being sold to a Robert E. Wallstrom. Wallstrom served as a Staff Sergeant in the National Guard and competed in the 1961 National Matches at Camp Perry where he received the "President's Hundred" award. The brass award tab and green and yellow uniform patch are included as well as the award certificate dated August 21, 1961, photographs of Wallstrom and his shooting team, and research information on the National Match competitions.

Very fine with 90% plus original parkerized finish. Displaying some light edge wear and cycling marks, handling marks, clear markings, and some small surface scratches. The wood is also very fine with nice color, some small indentations and handling marks, relatively clear markings, and some scattered larger dings. Mechanically excellent.
