Originally manufactured in March of 1944, this M1 Garand was later upgraded to M1D Sniper configuration. An included photocopy of a letter from the Civilian Marksmanship Program verifies that it was sold by CMP as an M1D in December of 1988, and noted that other records were unavailable. Blade front and peep rear sights, with "DRC" and "HS S" drums and a Springfield "S-A-4-52" barrel with "P" and "T" stamps on the chamber, along with the signature M1D integral scope base. Internal components include a Springfield bolt, trigger housing, hammer, and the relief-cut operating rod. Smooth pistol grip stock, with an uncircled "P" on the underside of the wrist, "MRT/APRIL 1952" sling, "MRT/10 52" leather cheekpiece (no screws) and a steel buttplate. A Hart Manufacturing M2 flash hider is installed, and the scope has a data plate marked "TELESCOPE/M84/SERIAL NO.L9236" along with a rubber eye piece and a sliding sun shield.

Very fine as arsenal upgraded, with 95% plus parkerized finish, showing mild edge wear and handling marks overall. The stock is very good, with some scattered dings and dents as well as some verdigris buildup on the cheekpiece. The optics are all in fine order, with mild exterior wear. Mechanically excellent.
