Manufactured in 1945. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with "No.5." and "D5E171/X/8" on the left side of the receiver, and the manufacturer code, date and serial number on the socket. Birmingham commercial proofs are present on the barrel, with a matching serial number on the underside of the forearm and a straight wrist buttstock with a rubberized cupped buttplate.

Excellent, with 95% plus of the matte black finish, showing some mild flaking and wear overall. The stock is also excellent, with faded wax pencil markings on the buttstock and scattered dings and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
