This is a very fine example of a early first variation Finnish Lahti L-35 pistol rig. This scarce early pistol comes complete with the original hardwood combination shoulder stock/holster with spare magazine. These pistol had a reputation for being very well manufactured and very reliable during the frigid winter conditions with many captured pistols being used by both the Russians and later on the Germans during WWII. The top of the receiver is marked with Finnish Valmet factory marking of: "VKT" inside a diamond logo over L-35, over the Finnish Army boxed "SA" proof. The left side of the frame, barrel extension and rear of the breech bolt are all correctly stamped "1468". It is fitted with the correct early red molded, checkered plastic grips that also have the "VKT" logo at the top of each grip. This pistol is accompanied by a rare and desirable early hardwood combination shoulder stock/holster. These are quite rare and few were ever manufactured. Some were initially issued during the early days of the Winter War. They were later pulled out of service, and the pistols were re-issued with just a standard leather holster. The "SA" marked shoulder stock is made from hardwood (birch) and looks very similar to the Mauser broomhandle type stock with a hollowed out inside with the hinged flat lid. It has a heavy steel attaching iron on the end with a steel spare magazine pouch screwed on the side of the stock. It is fitted with a detachable leather belt loop, and on the inside of the lid it is fitted with a steel magazine reloading tool. It comes with an original spare "SA" marked magazine.

Very fine with 85% plus of the blued finish overall with wear/blue loss on the edges and high spots overall with thinning on both grips straps and the stock lug. The grips are in excellent condition with nice impressed diamond style checkering. Mechanically excellent. The stock is also in very fine condition with a light varnish finish with only a few minor handling marks or light scratches on the sides. The metal components of the stock all retain 97% of their blue finish overall. A very fine example of a scarce and desirable Valmet/Lahti L-35 pistol and stock rig.
