This is a fine example of a Walther Party Leader Mod. PPK pistol Rig. This PPK pistol is fitted with the scarce Nazi Political Party Leader grips and comes with an original highly desirable Nazi Party Leader brown leather holster. These PPKs were officially known as the "Honor Weapon of the Political Leaders" as they were usually presented to high ranking Nazi officers for meritorious service to the party. The NSDAP Party Leader Walther PPKs are found in approximately two serial number ranges; 850,000 to 935,000 and in 174,000K to 234,965K range. This example was produced at the very beginning of the second serial number block. The grips are a mottled-brown plastic material impressed checkering and have the distinctive large Nazi Eagle/Swastika at the top of each grip panel. This example has the standard two-line factory markings of the Walther Banner, factory legend, caliber and model designation. The pistol is a pre-war commercial model with the "Crown/N" proofmarks on the slide, chamber area and front end of the barrel. The pistol has a 60 degree safety lever, cartridge indicator pin and lanyard loop on the bottom of the frame. The serial number is marked on the right side of the frame and the last three digits (696) are correctly scratched inside the slide. It comes with one Walther marked, high polished blued magazine with a matching mottled brown plastic extended finger rest. As noted, this scarce pistol comes with an original Party Leader brown leather holster that is stamped with the large Nazi eagle on the front flap. The lower front flap is stamped "D.R.G.M./Crossed Rifles/Akah".

Fine with 75% plus of the blued finish overall with edge and high spot wear overall with blue loss on the front end of the slide on both sides, with thinning of the finish on the front grip strap. The original grips are in good plus condition with nice sharp distinct markings and checkering on both sides with a distinctive age/stress crack on the right side that starts at the top of the grip and extends to the grip screw bushing. The left side is fine. The original holster is in fine condition with much of the original medium brown color overall with tight intact stitching, and a clear distinctive Nazi Eagle on the front flap. There is some minor scuffing/color loss on the top hinge area, lower corner of the magazine pouch and front leather tab. The makers mark on the lower front flap is also clear and distinct.
