Description:

Working with a combination of new made and extensively modified original Luger components, John Martz produced a variety of custom Luger variants. Among the most famous of his variants are his 45 ACP caliber conversions, which require extensive work to widen the frame and receiver to accommodate a larger, thicker barrel. Marked "JVM" and "39" under the side plate, a thick "45 ACP JVM" marked barrel, blank chamber, "DWM" toggle link, broadened receiver with crown "B" and "U" on the left, and "GERMANY" on the front of the frame. Matching partial numbers are present on the trigger and receiver. The grips are "JVM" marked, with the left panel marked "GKS 22AUG.1993" and the right "GEO.K.SARKISIAN"; George Sarkisian was a collaborator of Martz specializing in woodwork. One "JVM" magazine is included as is a modern plastic case.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally built by John Martz, with 85% plus bright finish, showing some minor handling marks and wear. A few of the metal components have mixed numbers. The grips are excellent, with a few dings and attractive color and grain. Mechanically very good.
