The included factory letter confirms that this pistol was retained by the Colt factory and possibly used for tests and experimental purposes. It was not shipped from Colt until October 16, 2008, when it was shipped to San Francisco, California. The factory letter also confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, finish, grips, markings (including non-standard "III" marking on barrel), and the included maroon "Heritage of Craftsmanship" box. Magazine absent.

Very fine overall, retains 90% plus original finish with some mild handling/edge wear, some scattered minor scratches, some tape residue and a few minor blemishes in the overall crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.
