Produced from 1970 to 1983, this pistol was manufactured in 1981. The factory letter states that this pistol "was a display piece and sample of a special issue kept by the Colt factory". Features fixed sights, serrated spur hammer and trigger with a serrated back strap grip extension, grip and thumb safety, serrated slide, and smooth rosewood grips with Colt Custom Shop coat-of-arms medallion inlays on both sides. The right side of the slide features simple border floral scroll engraving with intertwined gold etched portrait busts of four Ohio Presidents (Harrison, McKinley, Taft and Harding), with "Colt Government Model 45 Cal./Hartford, CT" in smaller lettering directly beneath the ejection port. There is also a gold etched image of the State seal of Ohio on the right rear slide behind the slide serrations. The left side of the slide is similarly engraved and etched in gold with the portrait busts of presidents Grant, Hayes and Garfield and is marked, "Ohio Presidents/Special Edition" with the image of the State bird on the left rear slide behind the slide serrations. The standard one-line address and serial number are marked on the right side of the frame, with "-COLT 45 AUTO/M.K. IV/SERIES 70" marked on the barrel. Complete with factory letter, papers/manual, yellow warning hanging tag, original Colt woodgrain box with a Colt Custom Gun Shop end label numbered to the gun and packing list stating the order date of 1981 and that it is to be placed in the archives.

Near new in box, 99% plus original finish. The Colt woodgrain box is in very good condition with typical minor edge and flap wear.
