Confirmed by the included Colt factory letter this revolver was kept by the Colt factory as a sample of this variation of Python revolvers. The letter also confirms the caliber, 6 inch barrel with standard markings, electroless nickel finish, and checkered grips. The revolver also has pinned serrated blade front and adjustable rear sights with the Rampant Colt stamped on the side plate. Complete with a Colt maroon "Heritage of Craftsmanship" box with Custom shop end label numbered to the gun.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99% plus original electroless nickel finish with a few minor scratches and a barely noticeable cylinder drag line. The grips are very fine with some minor wear on the bottom edge and a few minor handling marks. Overall the checkering is sharp. The box is very fine.
