Manufactured in 1979 and subsequently embellished by master engraver Ron J. Collings. The revolver shows nearly 100% coverage floral scroll engraving in a blend of English and American styles with gold bands inlaid at the muzzle, breech, and cylinder. There are also gold borders around the cylinder flutes and partitioning the frame with high relief Colt Rampant logo on the recoil shield, serpentine Colt logo on the loading gate, and Samuel Colt bust at the top of the back strap. The engraving is signed "RJC" on the left of the front strap under the grip. The smooth mother of pearl grips have gold Colt medallions. Collings completed his apprenticeship in England with companies such as Webley & Scott and Purdey before moving to Canada and later California to continue his career as a master engraver. This beautiful revolver certainly shows the extent of this artisans masterful skill.

Very fine overall as masterfully embellished by Ron Collings, retains 99% plus casehardened and blue finishes with some scattered light dings and scratches, and a hairline crack and some minor bottom interior edge chipping on the left panel. Mechanically excellent.
