Manufactured in 1977 by the Colt Custom Shop as a design concept for the Colt Engraving Sampler Edition. However, this design was not utilized for the edition creating a one of a kind Sampler Edition variation, which was later on display in the Colt Custom Shop as a sample of their offerings. The factory letter (photo copy) confirms serial number, caliber, barrel length, finish, and the grips. The engraving consists of factory class "A+" scroll executed in several different styles of the past 150 years along with a serpentine "C" and "150th" on the top of the back strap, all of which is also confirmed by the factory letter. Includes a wood presentation case and factory letter (photo copy).

Excellent overall, retains 99% original nickel finish with some scattered light scratches and dings. The overall smooth grips have some very light scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some minor handling/storage marks.
