Manufactured in 1894. Standard Colt markings and matching assembly numbers on the cylinder latch, cylinder, frame, crane and both grip panels. The cylinder correctly revolves counter-clockwise, features long flutes and lacks cylinder stops. Comes with an unmarked period correct brown leather holster. The Model 1889 was Colt's first double action revolver featuring a swing-out cylinder.

Very fine, retaining 85% plus bright original blue finish with the balance thinning to a brown (heavier on the grip straps). 95% original niter blue remains on the hammer and trigger. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering overall. The action needs work as the cylinder rotates when the hammer is down. The holster is fine with some minor flex wear and handling/storage marks and tight stitching.
