Manufactured in Belgium, the LAR was imported in limited numbers before being discontinued in 1988. Pin front and 600-meter peep rear sight, with a ported muzzle brake, swiveling carry handle, folding steel bipod, and two position selector switch. The right side of the receiver is roll-stamped "FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL/MADE IN BELGIUM" above the importer's marking "STEYR SECAUCUS N.J.", and the left is marked ".308 MATCH". Matching number is present on top of the bolt carrier. Grooved walnut forearm, polymer pistol grip, and smooth walnut buttstock with flip up shoulder rest.

Excellent. 99% plus original finish remains with some small dings on the barrel from the bipod and light handling marks on the balance. The wood is also excellent with just a few small dings. Mechanically excellent. The muzzle brake/bipod assembly has been installed upside down.
