Manufactured during the late 19th to early 20th Century by J.R. McChesney, who is known as the "Grandaddy of the Texas style spur". The upturned heel bands are single mounted with an engraved silver and copper "gal-leg" which is mirrored on the shanks which are mounted with 14-toothed rowels. The buttons are engraved hearts. They are fitted with stamped leather straps marked "a 'Wild Bill'/Original/02" featuring large engraved domed conchos. Heel band width: 1/2-3/4" Shanks: 2 3/8" Rowel diameter: 1 5/8" Heel opening: 3".

Very fine overall, showing mostly a smooth brown patina and bright silver finishes with some light wear and handling marks consistent with use. The straps have some scattered light verdigris on the fittings and crisp stamping overall.
