Per American Single Shot Rifle Association Journal Editor John Merz, "The 2009 Raffle Rifle is a Winchester Low Wall .22 LR Schuetzen rifle inspired by a rifle owned by Gary Quinlan and found on pages 147 and 148 of The Winchester Single Shot. . . " Glenn Fewless of Mook Machine Works oversaw the project and did most of the gunsmithing. "The stock started life from a blank provided by Ray & Cathy Richter. . .The blank was patterned by Ballard Arms, then fit, finished and checkered by master stock maker Doug Mann. Mike Sawmiller did the full coverage engraving. Charlie Shaeff donated the receiver. The block was donated by Frank Zika. Ballard Rifles donated all the other parts. The barrel was made and donated by Ron Smith of RKS. Ron configured the barrel in a Pope .22 style. CPA donated the palm rest and the butt plate. Frank Zika donated one of his Farrow style rear sights and a front sight to match." The barrel is marked "ASSRA 2009" on top, ".22 L. RIFLE" on the upper left at the breech, and "G. FEWLESS-M.M.W." on the lower left flat and is equipped with an F.J. Zikka globe front sight with a spirit level and two scope blocks. The Schnabel forearm has an ebony tip insert, checkering, and a nickeled base for a palm rest (not included). The frame has near full coverage scroll and border engraving and is equipped with an F.J. Zikka peep sight also marked "ASSRA 2009." It has a nickeled 3 finger Pope style lever with double set triggers. The pistol grip stock has a high comb, cheekpiece, and a nickeled Swiss style Schuetzen buttplate. The stock and forearm are both high grade walnut.
