Manufactured in 1894. The #3 barrel has a dovetailed blade front sight, standard sporting rear sight, the standard factory address ahead of the rear sight, and "40 EX." on top near the breech. The lower tang has the serial number in script between the screws and the patent dates just behind the hammer. It is mounted with a fancy grade walnut forearm with ebony insert and straight grip stock with casehardened buttplate. We have only sold one other Model 1885 in this caliber!

Fine with 60% original case colors on the frame and 50% blue on the barrel, traces of original case colors on the buttplate, mostly brown patina where the finish has faded on the barrel, silver gray on the faded areas of the action, signs it once had a peep sight on the upper tang, light spotting, some tool marks, and general minor marks and scratches. The wood is fine as refinished with undersized wrist, attractive figure, some small dents and nicks, and scattered light scratches. Mechanically fine.
