Manufactured in 1887, this Frontier Six Shooter revolver passed through the London Proof House, likely prior to commercial sale in Britain. Blade and notch sights, with the faint etched "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" panel on the left side of the barrel, one-line Hartford address on top, and the three-line, three-date patent markings on the frame, with no Rampant Colt, and "44 CAL" on the trigger guard. A set of "crown/V" and "crown/GP" proofs are present on the underside of the barrel and between the chambers on the cylinder. Fitted with a set of Rampant Colt/American Eagle grips.

Very good, with 25% of the blue finish present, concentrated in the protected areas, with a mixed brown and gray patina overall, scattered spotting, minor pitting and wear. The model panel is faded, but is still legible with appropriate light and viewing angle. Traces of bright color are present on the frame ahead of the cylinder, with the remainder showing a mixed gray/black pattern. The grips are also very good, with a few rubbed/sanded spots on the interior suggesting a removed number, along with some minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
