Description:

This rifle and hat are documented as being used by Brian Keith in the Columbia Studios film "The Mountain Man" in the included certificate of authenticity from Allan C. Frisch, archivist and conservator of inventory at Stembridge and a letter from Sam Gross. The rifle was manufactured in 1978 (Italian "AD" proof code) and antiqued for the film by actor and artist Frank Costanza by purposely wearing down the gun and adding brass tacks and is otherwise a standard rifle. Keith can be clearly seen holding the rifle and wearing the cap in the promotional image of him and Charlton Heston from the film included with the rifle used by Heston in the next lot.

Rating Definition:

Good as altered for movie use with material aged and removed and artificial wear. It functions fine, but the trigger doesn't set. The hat is very good and only has minor wear from use and storage.
