Manufactured from 1876 to the 1880s, these large frame single action revolvers were also known as the "Army Revolver." This later production example (third model) features a top strap, bird's head grip, pearl grips and conventional fluted cylinder. The left side of the frame is stamped "CALIBRE/WINCHESTER 1873", the designation for 44-40 caliber, and the right side of the frame is stamped "MERWIN, HULBERT & CO. N.Y./POCKET ARMY." Matching assembly numbers are found on the rear cylinder face, barrel lug and left side of the grip frame.

Very fine, retaining 95% unpolished original nickel finish showing some minor high spot/edge wear most apparent on the lower rear grip strap. 50% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger guard. The grips are excellent showing a few minor scratches and highly attractive color. Mechanically excellent.
