The cylinder is numbered "40" at the rear. Matching numbers are on the left side of the grip frame, and hand-scratched matching numbers are on the inside of the Rampant Colt grips.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 40% plus original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, bright edge wear, scattered handling marks and mild spotting. Some scratching is visible on the butt. The modified, refinished front sight is irregular in shape. The frame has faded to a mixed brown/silver, with traces of bright color in the protected areas. Driver marks are present on and around the screws. The replacement grips are good with moderate wear. Mechanically very good.
