These early 19th century pistols are particularly ornate versions of the style popular in the Balkans in the late 18th century and early 19th century and commonly identified as originating in Albania and sometimes Greece. They feature gold damascene patterns on the locks and barrels in floral scrollwork patterns. The gilt finished brass/gunmetal stocks have raised relief floral patterns with niello silver foliate accents and punched backgrounds. They have false ramrods as regional convention was to carry ramrods separately with the other loading equipment.

Very fine with most of the original gold damascene remaining on the lock and barrel, mix of original gilding and niello on the stock as well as aged patina, dark patina and oxidation on the remaining areas of the barrel and lock, replaced barrel tang and tang screw, and distinct patterns throughout. Mechanically needs work (very stiff but technically functional).

Fine with nearly all of the original golden damascene and dark niello accents remaining, dark aged patina and oxidation on the balance of the iron, blend of original gild finish and aged patina on the stock, and mild overall wear. Mechanically fine.
