Manufactured circa 1850-1860. The top strap is engraved with period owner initials "AD" along with "Ed Lefaure Bte. a Paris." The frame has "No. 11,943T" engraved on the right side and marked "E.O" on the left side near the loading lever, and the loading lever is marked "W. TRANTER'S/PATENT." The cylinder is marked with London proofs between each chamber at the rear. The proofs are repeated on the upper left barrel flat at the breech. Fitted with a fully checkered grip and lanyard ring on the butt, and full silver plated finish. The revolver is presented in its original case featuring an "AD" initialed engraved brass plaque on the exterior of the lid and "E. LEFAURE/PARIS" embossed in gold on the lid interior velvet padding. The case is lined in green velvet and contains a bullet mold, French cap tin, plain bag shaped C&J.W. Hawksley powder flask, tin of grease (hardened), ebony bore rod, glass oil bottle, lead rounds and leather cap pouch retaining a Tranter label.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 98% of the period retailer silver plating with loss limited to the underside of the top strap and face plate. The grips are also excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with minimal age flaws, a small crack on the bottom, minor handling/storage marks and typical high spot wear on the lining. A fine silver plated cased Tranter revolver that will make a wonderful addition to any antique handgun collection.
