Description:

Manufactured by the London Armory Co. based on patents by its founder Robert Adams and Lt. Frederick E. B. Beaumont of the Royal Engineers c. 1856-1859 and retailed by William & John Rigby of Dublin as indicated by the "L.A.C." stamp by the London proofs on the upper left barrel flat and the "WILLM &. JOHN RIGBY. DUBLIN" marking on top the top strap and barrel. The inside of the case also has a Rigby retailer label. "ADAMS' PATENT. NO 34022.R." is on the right side of the frame, and the same number and "R" are on the side of the cylinder. The Beaumont number "B.18,275" is above the Adams marking on the frame. The serial number is marked on the back of the cylinder, frame under the grip, and on the top of the grip on the right. The latter also has "G.T" on the upper left side. The grip is finely checkered and has border molding. The pistol comes in hardwood case with English fitted interior and olive green baize lining containing a cap tin, bullets, screwdriver/nipple wrench, pocket powder flask, bore rod, and bullet mold.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 70% original blue finish, mostly brown patina on the balance, minor edge and handling wear, some light oxidation, replaced arbor pin turn-screw, and light scratches. The grip is very good and has mostly crisp checkering, some scrapes and dings, and mild handling wear. The case is very good with moderate overall wear from storage and age, including some cracking of the dividers, and an absent upper lock assembly. The revolver markings are all crisp, and it remains mechanically fine.
